Executive overview

Built for the complete operation.

Make commercial software operations explicit. Checkout, ownership, downloads, licensing, subscriptions, refunds, seller workflows, marketplace discovery, payment-provider state, and administrative policy remain connected without hiding lifecycle behavior inside unrelated systems.

Business outcomes

What the platform changes.

Technology only matters when it improves how the business operates.

Sell and fulfill reliably

Successful Stripe Checkout sessions create orders, order items, API keys, and active license records through idempotent processing.

  • Paid-order creation
  • Entitlement fulfillment
  • API-key issuance
  • Duplicate-event protection

Enforce the complete lifecycle

Billing events change real access state rather than stopping at payment reporting.

  • Renewal reactivation
  • Failed-payment suspension
  • Cancellation expiry
  • Refund and dispute revocation

Operate every side of the marketplace

Buyer, seller, admin, portal, public, finance, support, and operations experiences share one platform boundary.

  • Buyer library
  • Seller publishing
  • Admin command center
  • Portal license visibility
How it works

Every step hands structured state to the next, keeping the experience understandable and the system observable.

Complete capability overview

The platform, system by system.

A grounded view of what each product is designed to operate, based on its current repository and documented roadmap.

Marketplace and catalog

Premium discovery and product-detail experiences preserve a real checkout handoff.

  • Marketplace browsing
  • Seller stores
  • Tiered product display

Commerce and billing

The platform connects commercial configuration to payment-provider operations and order state.

  • Stripe Checkout
  • Payment-provider readiness
  • Orders and order items
  • Refund and dispute processing
  • Revenue tiers

Licensing and entitlements

License state follows billing and ownership state.

  • Active license issuance
  • API keys
  • Subscription metadata
  • Status and expiry validation
  • Portal visibility

Buyer and seller workspaces

Role-aware command centers expose the workflows each participant actually needs.

  • Buyer library and downloads
  • Seller overview

  • Operations center
  • Storage governance
  • Security center

Readiness and observability

Operational endpoints, audit-friendly boundaries, and validation scripts support production preparation.

  • Readiness endpoints
  • System status
  • Security validation
  • Performance review
  • Release checks
Product experience

Clarity at operational scale.

Dense systems should still feel understandable. Purpose-built workspaces keep critical state visible without turning the interface into noise.

Architecture and trust

Engineered beneath the interface.

Security, scalability, integration boundaries, performance, and administration are part of the productβ€”not an appendix.

Application surfaces

ForgeFX separates its API, public web application, admin UI, and portal UI while sharing one commercial domain.

  • API service
  • Next.js web
  • Admin UI
  • Portal UI

Authentication and security

Canonical accounts use scrypt passwords, hashed sessions and one-time tokens, role associations, audit logs, secure headers, origin checks, and rate limits.

  • HTTP-only sessions
  • Single-use recovery tokens
  • Role-aware authorization
  • Admin session/API-key boundaries

Lifecycle processing

The active Stripe webhook processor verifies signatures and performs idempotent fulfillment and subscription enforcement.

  • Event-id idempotency
  • Session/order deduplication
  • Subscription state changes
  • License validation

Performance and operations

Aggregate catalog queries, cache headers, readiness endpoints, deployment guidance, and rollback documentation support operational discipline.

  • Optimized catalog queries
  • Safe read caching
  • Dependency readiness
  • Release validation

Real-world scenarios

Designed around work that happens.

Representative ways teams can apply the platform without reducing it to a generic feature list.

Independent software company

Publish software tiers, take payment, fulfill licenses and downloads, and manage renewals without stitching together unrelated systems.

Multi-seller marketplace

Give sellers publishing workflows while the operator controls marketplace quality, products, pricing policy, storage, and payment readiness.

Subscription product

Tie recurring billing events directly to access state so past-due, paid, canceled, and refunded accounts receive the correct entitlement automatically.

Platform philosophy

Principles that shape every release.

  1. Billing state must change access state
  2. Fulfillment must be idempotent
  3. Admin actions must be auditable
  4. Marketplace and seller concerns stay separated
  5. Every interface should reflect real API state
Current state and roadmap

Honest about what comes next.

Available capability, active validation, and roadmap direction are presented separately.

Available

Core commercial platform

Marketplace, seller publishing, checkout fulfillment, buyer library, licenses, subscription enforcement, admin controls, and role-aware experiences are implemented and locally validated.

Validation

Release candidate gate

Engineering remediation and cross-application validation are complete; RC1 awaits owner/legal decisions and explicit approval.

Roadmap

Production release

Production deployment follows formal release-candidate approval, policy decisions, and controlled redeployment.

Future product destination

A dedicated product website is planned.

This page is already designed to hand off naturally when the standalone ForgeFX website is ready.

Frequently asked questions

The important details.

Does ForgeFX issue real entitlements after checkout?+

Yes. Documented Stripe fulfillment creates paid orders, order items, API keys, and active licenses, with duplicate protection across events, sessions, orders, and license metadata.

How are failed subscriptions handled?+

Failed invoices and past-due subscriptions suspend licenses. Paid invoices reactivate them and update expiry. Canceled subscriptions expire access.

Does it support multiple operational roles?+

Yes. The canonical account model supports buyer, seller, admin, support, finance, and operations role associations with role-aware application surfaces.

Is ForgeFX production deployed?+

The repository describes pre-release-candidate engineering as complete but explicitly requires owner approval before RC1 and production redeployment.
